- Contains building blocks to show or hide when needed:
o Schedule - Course modules containing the course content
o Mediacenter - Course library
o Course Room - Discussion Areas
o Portfolio - contains assessments for the student as well as administration tools for creating assessments
o Administration contains tools for the teacher/instructor when creating content as well as setting up a new course
- Self-tests are created within QuickPlace using customized forms. QuickPlace handles the document management
- Student portfolio containing all students assignments across all modules with the status of:
o New
o Not graded
o Graded
- Workflow between student and teacher. The student receives an email when he or she:
o Passed the exam
o Did not pass the exam
o Has an overdue assignment
o Have not returned the exam before deadline
The teacher can now better communicate with the students. If the student fails an exam, a link to the re-assignment will be sent by email.
- Bulk print assignments and register what has been printed and graded
- Access to reports. This is the most time saving feature and with this the teachers has the overview of all students and their present activity level in a course. Choose between:
o Show simple report with student information
o Export all relevant student information to a .csv file
o Collect all email addresses for the relevant students
o Create a specific .csv file for importing into a central database
o Choose the status for assignments, e.g. Not yet returned or Passed
About the assessment module:
The assessment module allows creation of two kinds of assignments for the students:
- Evaluation assignments
- Exams
Assessments are constructed based on easy-to-build repository of questions. The instructor can add one or many questions and the score for each question. After saving the assignment, a link for the assignment will be published in the chosen course module.
